Virginia Wolf, English and philosophy, earned her third master's degree on May 16 from the United Theological Seminary in New Brighton, Minn. Her previous master's degrees, like her Ph.D., were from the University of Kansas in English-an M.A. and an M.Phil.
Wolf was raised as an American Baptist in Coffeeville, Kan. She went to her first Unitarian fellowship in the early '60s in Topeka, Kan., where she was teaching at a junior high school.
Wolf said this religion appealed to her because it emphasizes tolerance, freedom of belief and universal salvation.
