		Virgo is the 6th sign of the zodiac; the sun passes through this constellation from late september to the end of october.
		The most outstanding Virgo Supercluster of galaxies is located on the northern border of Virgo reaching into the neighbouring constellation of Coma Berenices.
		In various legends Virgo represents the goddess of justice or the goddess of the harvest.

		The Virgo Cluster with its some 2000 member galaxies dominates our intergalactic neighborhood, as it represents the physical center of our Local Supercluster (also called Virgo or Coma-Virgo Supercluster), and influences all the galaxies and galaxy groups by the gravitational attraction of its enormous mass.

		The Virgo Cluster is notoriously difficult to navigate due to the scarcity of stars and the profusion of galaxies; it is probably the only area in the sky where it is common to hop from galaxy to galaxy rather than from star to star.
		The Virgo Cluster is framed by two stars that should be readily visible even in the brightest skies: Denebola (Beta Leonis) on the west and Vindemiatrix (Epsilon Virginis) on the east, but both of those stars lie at considerable distance from any of the Messier galaxies.
		In addition, one approaches the Virgo Cluster from the east starting with M60 and M59, which are relatively bright, whereas most of the galaxies near the western edge of the cluster are quite faint.

		When the velocities are progressively corrected for the effect of Virgo infall (measured in terms of its amplitude at the Local Group) we see that (a) the scatter diminishes, (b) the Hubble constant increases, and (c) the points near Virgo come into agreement with the distant points.
