		VirtualDub is an open source video capture and linear processing tool for Microsoft Windows.
		VirtualDub cites US Patent 6,041,345 as one of possible guns behind the letter from Microsoft but there may be many more patents, nobody knows and it's impossible to know for sure.
		VirtualDub can also be used to create a video file from a series of bitmaps or targas.

		MPEG2 is not supported nativly in VirtualDub and it never will be according to the author, Avery Lee because of liscensing issues; however, MPEG1 is supported.

		Basicly, I would like to do everything in one step, VirtualDub is capable of doing this however it is not working correctly.
		I noticed that it seems to be making the Audio the correct length but it seems to be missing large portions of Frames from the video.
		I believe the issues seems to be with the MMC capturing video at 29.97 fps then switching down to 24-25 fps whenever it wants to (because it doesn't seem to make a difference between high or low action scenes).

		This is the case with both of the two passes I do.
		I think at that point, in one of the tabs of the VirtualDub status window, a message appears like "Possible deadlock detected", but I don't know what this means.
		If that doesn't help check yout source file for error, also post GKnots log file, the avs file used (without comments) and the divx settings you used (also which version of divx you used).

		There are many AVI editors around, but for this tutorial, we'll use VirtualDub, a freeware open-source AVI editor, popular amongst the DivX community.

		The exact problem is that VirtualDub says that "No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format" when I load a DivX file created by by WinDVD Creator 2.
		However, VirtualDub still says that "No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format" when I try to read the input file.
		I can go back to VirtualDub for more info if there is a reason you need to use the Input Playback button so let me know if this workaround is good enough or not.

		Sorry about the slow reply i was out...I'm going to assume that your only going to have 1 instance of virtualdub open when your capturing so this should work, i just tried it and i was fine.
		the reason i had the full titlebar path before was since i'm having the script start virtualdub and name the capture files i need it to determine what stage it's in, but since your just using it to key a F6 button this should work.
