		I have looked at the Visa website and got the impression that the card was widely accepted for purchases yet when I checked with his bank (Barclays) they said the card was NOT widely accepted.
		Sorry I can't be more helpful as she was staying in the US (for three months) with her Dad and told me that she was able to use the ATM's on her return.
