Obviously it is a moot point as at least one Armidale has been launched, however, with all the years of experience on PT boats, you'd think the navy would have gone larger again than just a slightly bigger Freo replacement.
I reckon we should fit the Armidales with a hull mounted sonar and torpedos for their stated role of port defence, and perhaps be able to tow minesweeping gear as well.
I think the Visby would be ideal for surveillance within the region with its inherent low profile ops.
