 Castle Durrow
Formerly the home of the Flower family, Barons Castle Durrow and Viscounts Ashbrook, it was built in the early 18th century (1712 — 1715) when domestic architecture in Ireland was developing an independence of the need for defense and economy that had characterized earlier construction.
Past research indicates that the Ashbrooks were generally regarded as benevolent landlords and of course the largest employers of Durrow Village.
He is succeeded by his son, Llowrach, 9th Viscount Ashbrook, known locally as "Lowey" who was the last of the Ashbrook family to reside in Castle Durrow.

Viscount Leverhulme, who died in 2000 at the age of 85, was also Lord Patron of the Cheshire Agricultural Society and Cheshire Show for 50 years and, throughout his life, a great supporter of Reaseheath College.
Welcoming Viscount Leverhulme’s daughter, Mrs Jane Heber-Percy, to the official naming ceremony, Reaseheath Principal Meredydd David said that her father had been a great man who had achieved much within the areas of agriculture and the countryside.
Presenting the awards, Viscount Ashbrook, one of the show’s Deputy Presidents, emphasised that long service for the same employer would be much rarer in future years due to increased mobility of staff and changes within the jobs market.
