BE1883 shows this Roger to be the Roger of a generation earlier but Collins (vol ii, 1741, Lumley of Scarbrugh), supported by a note in BP1934 (Durham) regarding his daughter Agnes, shows him to be of this generation which, considering the dates, looks more likely.
