This is the first cooperation agreement Europol has signed with a Baltic country, and is being depicted by both sides as a key element in the fight against cross-border crime, terrorism and drug trafficking.
The result of the agreement is intended to be the gradual development of effective joint work at operational, technical and strategic level by exchanging information and intelligence, including personal data.

The transforming states of teh Visegard Four form one geopolitical unit of cultural proximity, common historical experience, economic and political transformation, and especially of the effort to be integrated into Western European and trans-Atlantic political, economic and security structures.
With respect to the preparation of the Slovak Republic for membership in NATO I cannot neglect to mention an additional significant step: ratification of the Agreement on the Status of Armed Forces within the Partnership for Peace program by the National Council of the Slovak Republic in September of the last year.
The Slovak Republic was the first of the countries of the Partnership for Peace program to ratify this agreement.

Moreover, the participants in the meeting devoted some time to discuss the question of cooperation with and assistance for the countries applying for the membership in the Union (Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Turkey).

If you went Northwest, I would do the Danube Bend, Szentendre, Visegard, Esztergom, and head dirctly to Sopron to use as my base to see the area.
Day trips would be to the Pannonhalma Abbey (fantastic), to Fertod to see the Palace and to the wonderful little walled village of Koszeg.
