Vitriol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In antiquity, the vitriol salts were extracted from the runoff that collected inside mines of sulfide ores; the sulfates were formed naturally by the action of air on the wet sulfide minerals, and washed down by percolating water.
Vitriol was the most important alchemical substance, intended to be used as a philosopher's stone.
In typical applications, a solution of the vitriol is mixed with lime (calcium hydroxide) to produce a fine copper hydroxide suspension, which is sprayed on the plant.

Roman vitriol was identified in the pharmacies and in the Frankfurt's fair list of 1582 as pectone, therefore it was gained through the evaporation of naturally occurring vitriol solutions.
With it they clearly mark that their vitriol is not the vitriol 'of the common', but that 'of the philosophers', thus it surely cannot be identical with 'Roman' or 'Goslaric' vitriol and/or verdigris in any composition.
Thus common verdigris or vitriol is not the Vitriol of the Philosophers or their Green Lion, also not the vera prima materia of the alchemists.

Plug In music : Review of My Vitriol - March 23, 2002
Taking the stage first, and saying nothing else but "We're My Vitriol from London," the quartet got straight to business, playing hits like "Grounded" and "Always: Your Way" from their highly acclaimed debut album "Finelines" (which has yet to be released in the States).
Front man Som Wardner held all attention during the closing song, "Tongue Tied," when after nailing the guitar part, he fell to his knees and repeatedly screamed into the microphone as his band mates continued playing; the passion and intensity only matched that of the music and (hopefully) left an impression on the audience.
With "Finelines" currently set to be released at the end of May and the American music scene plagued by "nu-metal" and fabricated "rock", My Vitriol are certainly a welcome change.

 My Vitriol: Finelines
Passionately moody and melodic rock describes London-based band My Vitriol.
Their music is a fusion of the screeching effects-filled dueling guitars of main songwriter Som Wardner and ex-Mint 400 guitarist Seth Taylor, pounding drums of Ravi Kesavaram, booming bass of Carolyn Bannister, and Wardner's soothing (though often screaming) vocals, which are sometimes compared to Kurt Cobain's more melodic moments.
"C.O.R." is a literally screaming instrumental, which stands for "Critic Oriented Rock"—something My Vitriol seem to be annoyed by despite their own critical acclaim from various media outlets.
