 Vixen - Virgin Radio
Vixen was formed in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1980 by guitarist Jan Kuehnemund while still at high school.
In 1984, an early version of the band with Kuehnemund and singer Janet Gardner appeared in the movie Hardbodies as the on-screen band "Diaper Rash." In 1985 the band moved to Los Angeles to be part of the LA rock scene.
This line-up of Vixen was interviewed in 1987 along with many other rock artists of the day by Penelope Spheeris for her film The Decline of Western Civilization II: The Metal Years.

Vixen was never a favorite among rock critics, whose barbs didn't prevent the band from selling millions of albums in the late '80s.
Vixen's self-titled debut album came out in 1988, and the CD sold millions thanks in part to the single "Edge of a Broken Heart" (which enjoyed heavy exposure on MTV).
This new version of Vixen released Extended Versions, a recording of their set at 2005's Sweden Rock Festival, and a studio album, Live & Learn, which was released in Europe in 2006.

Fear not though, mere gameplayer, for Vixen has a formidable arsenal (and there's not much wrong with the rest of her, I can tell you!) at her disposal.
The playing area scrolls right as Vixen makes her way towards the end of a level before her limited time runs out, more than a bit like Thundercats.
Vixen's best bits are purely graphical - the animation on the main character is beautiful, and the fox, although a little on the weeny side, moves superbly.

Vixen was my favorite band at the time.
Looking back now, I have to laugh at how cheesy Vixen were but at the time I thought their music was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Vixen may not have been as hard as L7 or Babes in Toyland but they deserve their spot in rock music.
