Bozzo had a friendship with Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori when he was head of state, and she had a romance with one of Fujimori's top men, Vladimir Montesino.
When Montesino was arrested after Fujimori had been given political asylum in Japan; Bozzo had to flee the country and settled in Miami, after being charged with helping Montesino steal public money.

I have known in Peru and Ecuador at least a couple of Lenins (used as a first name and, at least in one of these cases, chosen by a couple with no political commitment), a Vladimir (not Montesinos), and several bearers of quite sophisticated names (I remember, for example, a mestizo named Duncan).
It seems that, in some cultures, children's names are not chosen with the same criteria we use.
