	IRD Serbia - Local Economic Development
		The municipality of Vladimirci is among the first in Serbia to launch an initiative to design and implement a local economic development strategy applying principles and techniques of modern strategic planning.
		Vladimirci is one of the 8 municipalities of the Mačva District in the area of the northwestern Serbia, on the right bank of the Sava River, between Šabac, Valjevo, Obrenovac, and Belgrade.
		The territory of Vladimirci is bordered in the northeast by the Sava River, in the south by the territory of Koceljeva municipality, and in the west by Šabac.

		The local economic development plan for Vladimirci recognized the construction of a Ridjake-Skupljen water pipeline as main priority of the Vladimirci priority projects for the period of 2006 -2007 (Vladimirci Local Development Strategy 2006-2010).
		With a regular water supply available to the Vladimirci area, this company intends to invest $400,000 (in cooperation with foreign partners) in order to finance Nucleus farm equipment for 200 brood sows that will enable the company to raise 2,300 pigs.
		In addition, the Vladimirci Local Economic Development Team has visited 15 businesses (10 farms and 5 SMEs), and collected statements regarding the current status of those businesses in terms of water shortages, as well as the economic impacts expected upon the realization of the project.

		The library in Vladimirci is the only cultural institution in also serves as a modest cinema, theatre for plays, and general cultural venue.
		As much as possible the library staff are trying to offer quality content to youth, but activities are limited because of old facilities and equipment and the absence of computers and audio visual devices.
		Young people in Vladimirci will learn to organize and use spare time in more proper and effective ways through gatherings and exchange of information among people their age with common interests.

		The primary goal of the gathering was mobilization and agitation of youth at local level and their fu rther networking.
		Forty-eight young people from Western Serbia (Loznica, Krupanj, Šabac, Vladimirci, Valjevo, Mionica, Ub, Užice, Bajina Bašta, Kosjerić, Arilje, Sremska Mitrovica) were present at the training.
		Common conclusion was that the groups do not dispose with data on youth position, and that they are in need of such information so they could wield their position towards the environment they are engaged in, in an appropriate way.
