Vladislav Delay, intrigued by nature, is this time to capture something essential out of the whole and from the moment, and to represent and translate that which is unpolished and sincere to the listener.
Vladislav Delay (aka Luomo and Uusitalo) is a techno producer and one of the most highly-regarded Finnish innovators in experimental music and especially with the method referred to as clicks and cuts.
As always, Vladislav Delay is on the look-out for new and surprising elements, sounds and arrangements, and it might be that on The Four Quarters the aspect of sound design is taken to the furthest limits imaginable amongst all his works.

Vladislav Zubok: Three goals: to achieve a better strategic balance with the U.S. by putting medium-range missiles in Cuba; second, to protect Cuba from an American invasion that he believed would come sooner or later; and third, to show to his communist colleagues, particularly to Mao Tse-tung, that he cared about the revolutionary movement abroad.

Vladislav Delay has a thing for cologne (this is a true fact) -- not the city as you may expect from one whose aesthetic parallels that of Cologne's Wolfgang Voigt and Thomas Brinkmann, but rather the mens' perfume.
Vladislav Delay (from Finland, a hemisphere away from the other Sigma artists physically but not musically) distills dub into faded ghosts of fragmented sound, immersing the listener in a droning deconstruction of snare, cymbal, and analog electronic sounds.
However, Vladislav Delay (who also has a great album on the New Zealand label Sigma) does appear to be doing more with the digital metronome in sprinkling cavernous dub and frozen atmospheres, falling closer to the sound of Plastikman or some of the Chain Reaction kids.
