		Less than a year after becoming Greece's first-ever world champion, Vlasios Maras earned the gold medal on high bar in the European Championships, held in April in his home country.

		Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) gymnast Philippe Rizzo has created history by becoming the first Australian gymnast to win a medal at a world championship.
		Competing against the best gymnasts in the world, Rizzo produced an incredible performance on the High Bars scoring 9.725 to win the silver medal just behind Maras Vlasios from Greece who produced an excellent routine to take the gold medal with a score of 9.755.
