For whatever reason, if either Vobsub or VSfilter is installed to read the subtitles (IDX/SUB files) placed in the same folder as the AVI, VMC isn't able to even read the thumbnails off the AVI, much less, play them. Also, dont be like me and have both vobsubs and text file subs in the same folder.. mpeg movies won't play - Inmatrix Forums window (option: not load subtitles) which has inactivated VobSub and there does not seem to be a way to change it back to normal, since there is only a.dll file in the installation folder. About Vobsub: for some unknown reason, the only way to fix it was changing the value of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Gabest\General\LoadLevel to something different from 2, which corresponds to the option "Do not load" at the General tab...
