Singer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In music a singer or vocalist is a type of musician who uses his or her voice as an instrument to make music.
A lead singer (in barbershop music simply called a lead) is one who sings the primary vocals of a song, as opposed to a backup singer who sings backup vocal(s) to a song or harmonies to the lead singer.
An exception is in five-part gospel a cappella music, where the lead is the highest of the five voices and sings a descant, never the melody which may be in any of the other four parts.

The main reason for this is that it’s really hard to go back and match the sound that you had a month later when you decide to re-sing the first line of the last verse.
Even a "dry" vocal can benefit from just a tiny amount of reverb - even if it is almost inaudible, it will help.
A short delay can "enlarge" the sound of the vocal - use a setting near 30 ms to "double" the vocal, and keep it low in the mix.

vocal eliminate, remove or reduce software
Vocal removal or reduction is an art, and it has a tradeoff.
Vocals cannot be removed from songs that were; recorded monaural (versus stereo), monaural songs that have been digitally remastered into stereo, songs with modern surround sound or other 3D effects, and songs with heavy chorusing effects added to the vocal.
Songs where the vocal was not center panned will not remove as well or not at all depending on how far off center they were panned.

Vocal tracks, from what I've seen, tend to have the bass dropped a lot, whereas the mid and high tones are boosted up somewhat.
With the Lead Guitars and Vocals, I tend to mix them higher in the mix as they are single note instruments.
On the Lead Vocals track, a compressor is a good way to bring up the levels, but less is more, simply because if you add a compressor, it takes feel/expression away because it makes the quieter sounds and louder sounds closer together in level.

 Recording Lead Vocals
It is in recognition of the importance of the lead vocal that top producers often spend such a large amount of time and money working on this one element of a finished track.
Most of the time when recording vocals it's best to keep the effect of the room on the sound to a minimum, so keeping well away from the walls is a good idea.
Without a doubt, the best general advice for the aspiring vocal producer is to take any opportunity to encourage and compliment the singer — don't underestimate how much a singer's performance depends on his or her emotional state.

Chances are that even the most tone deaf among us will pick up on the "chorus" sung by the background vocals, rather than the riff-laden lead vocal, which is usually beyond the vocal ability of all but a few God-blessed individuals.
Depending on who is doing the arranging among the singers, these parts will usually serve to embellish the chorus of the song, with a few pad-type harmonies thrown in on the bridge and maybe even a counterpoint on the vamp out.
This is a big strain on the background singers, because they have to make someone sound good who perhaps has the vocal ability of a toad, although a pretty toad with big breasts signed to a major record company with a powerful manager and a smart lawyer.

 Bob Rock: Recording Vocals
Recording vocals for me has both a technical and a musical dimension, both of which must be addressed together in all recording projects.
Most people think of getting the right drum sound or of miking the piano as the test of an engineer's skill, but I truly believe that recording vocals is the hardest skill to master in all of recording.
Make sure you're comfortable with the approach on the vocal and that you are not trying to do something new or unnatural.

This vocal style is not to be confused with the rasping, higher-pitched shriek of Norwegian fl metal bands such as Darkthrone, the thick-necked barking of weight-lifter metal bands like Pantera, or the anxious roar of current Headbanger's Ball favorites like Shadows Fall.
In fact, the type of growl (or bark or scream) used by the vocalist is a good indicator of which subgenre you're dealing with.
Finally, whether intentional or not, the grisly vocals of death metal, fl metal, and hardcore are an effective repellent against listeners who aren't committed to approaching the music on its own terms.

Audio Downloads : Vocal Remover /// AnalogX
AnalogX Vocal Remover works on the same principles that the hardware removers do - that in most instances vocals are equally mixed in both channels, and can identified and therefore removed by simply changing the phase on one channel by 180 degrees.
While this won't remove vocals in all instances, it does work in many cases, and can sometimes be used to remove bass or breakbeat sections as well, which I find to be GREAT for sampling!
Depending on the effects used on the vocals, sometimes the reverb or ambience of the vocals is left.

Removing Vocals - The Sonic Spot
Removing vocals from an audio track has long been the desire of musicians and remixers in order to obtain the instrumental version of a song, otherwise available only as a complete mix.
This method of removing vocals can be accomplished fairly easily, but depends greatly on how the entire mix was recorded.
Additionally, effects, such as echo and reverb are often applied to vocals before they are recorded to the final mix.
