	Volvo 200 series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Ironically, the 700 series line was ended in 1992 (replaced by the 900 series), the year before the 200 series was discontinued.
		Though 200 series in many ways began its life as a concept car called VESC - Volvo Experimental Safety Car - in 1972, the first model were essentially a face lift of the earlier 140 series, the 200 was available as the 4-cylinder 240 series or the 6-cylinder 260 series.
		Volvo increased the displacement to 2.8 liters in 1980 with the introduction of the B28F and B28E engines, which was prone to premature camshaft wear, lasting approximately a mere 120,000 miles.

		The Volvo 140 is an automobile from Volvo.
		Compared to the Volvo Amazon, the 140 was a radical new design with the only similar features being the split grill and some parts of the interior.
		Around the same time, the Volvo 164 was produced, which shared much of the 140 series styling (except for the front), but incorporated a 6-cylinder engine.

		Volvo celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 1977 and released a limited edition version of the 240, the 244DL "anniversary" car.
		The 200 also had quite an appetite for front tyres, especially models with power steering, which for 'town' driving I consider essential, unless you eat three Shredded Wheat a day, and once you've had the pleasure of power steering you don't want to go back to 'tug and pull'.
		I am sure the Volvo 200 will be seen on the roads for many years to come and one day I expect to see it listed as one of the great classic cars of the great era of motoring.

	JTR Volvo 200 Series V-8 Conversion
		The Volvo diesel engine was actually built by Volkswagen and was never noted for its durability.
		The diesel Volvo has the advantages of coming with suspension and brake components that are compatible with the V-8 because the diesel engine is fairly heavy.
		The published curb weight for the Volvo is listed at about 3120 lbs, so taking into account that the sway bars and trailer hitch added about 50 lbs, the V-8 added about 150 lbs.

	V8 Conversions, Volvo 200 Series V-8 Radiator
		The radiator from a 1986-1988 Chevrolet Corvette (GM Part #52453612, Stealth Conversions Part #S10-120) has nearly the same dimensions as the Volvo diesel and V-6 radiators, but the outlets are for the Chevrolet V-8.
		The Corvette radiator will fit in the Volvo 200 Series with a few simple brackets and some minor metal trimming, which are shown in the Volvo 200 Series V-8 Conversion Manual.
		Be sure to get a genuine GM radiator, because some of the aftermarket "replacement" radiators are not as good.
