		The V40 rear window thing is a bit weird, but the pick up and handling are great.
		Volvo makes you purchase marine insurance which would cover the cost of repairs, but I would not want a new car to be damaged with no recourse but to repair it.

		The other day I pressed the unlock button on the key fob of my v40 whilst my wife had already got the button pressed (thinking that it was already unlocked) Now the button is stuck in the depressed position and I can't open the boot.
		I fitted a shock absorber to my v40 and when the spider on the driveshaft popped out the needle rollers dropped into the gearbox!!! so after a day in the rain and a bit of blood and sweat I had the gearbox out.
		I have owned a V40 T4 for just over a year now and it has not given me any hassle (except from the turbo oil return seal perishing) until last weekend.
