		The first album was recorded too quickly and the second doesn't push the band to its limits, so the Von Bondies are now looking for a different producer for the upcoming album, Stollsteimer said.
		Stollsteimer has penned every Von Bondies song to date, but this time around, he asked his bandmates to try their hand at writing, too.

		Before their worldwide success, the band released Von, on Sugarcube owned label Bad Taste (or Smekkleysa SM in Icelandic). An essential album in the Sigur Rós catalog, Von (Hope) was never released outside of Iceland.
		Whittled down to 40 minutes, Von would be considerably more effective than it already is. As a mood setter, the 10-minute opening track really takes about three minutes to do what it needs, and a few other spots seem to drag on for the sake of sucking time.
		Based on pure sound, Von is just as much of a treat as the acclaimed follow-up.

		Now that I'm in the Von Lmo fan club, its hard to believe that they've been mostly overlooked in the last few years of appreciation of all things spazzy and recorded in the vicinity of 1980.
		It's hard to pin Von Lmo's sense of humor- some of the tracks here have such an upbeat message, it's impossible to figure out how seriously they were taking themselves at the time.

		Stollsteimer nods to the past and present, growling, "I've been swank and loving it." The shift in verb tense, like the song as a whole, betrays a focus that's split between the sounds of both the old and new.

		The excellent, exhilarating single "C'Mon C'Mon" alone justifies the Von Bondies' jump to a major label and the attendant major recording budget: its quick-shifting dynamics, call-and-response vocals, and poppy sheen make it not only the best and most distinctive song the Von Bondies have yet recorded, but one of the best singles of 2004.
		Most importantly for the band, the album shows that the Von Bondies are now able to succeed or fail on their own terms, outside of the context and constraints of Detroit's garage rock scene.

		In jener Zeit, als Lothar Matthäus noch Diego Maradona hinterherhechelte und die Weltmeisterschaft in Mexiko stattfand, bekam ich von meinem Patenonkel mein erstes Panini WM Sticker Album geschenkt.
		Seit Freitag darf ich mich wieder wie 10 fühlen, denn ich habe bei meinem russischen Kioskbetreiber um die Ecke das aktuelle Sammelalbum erworben (wie viele andere Altersgenossen, sogar weibliche sind darunter).
		Natürlich werde ich wie in alten Tagen von einer Bude zur nächsten fahren und meine 20 Tüten sicherlich nicht bei ein und dem selben Kiosk kaufen - gibt viel zu viele doppelte, den Trick hatte ich schon damals raus… ;)
