Wanting to maintain both its tax rate and the quality of its schools, the Voorhees Township Committee is considering a proposed ordinance that would pass the cost of the extra burden placed on the schools on to those purchasing new homes.
The amount of the levy was based on the current expenditure of approximately $6000 per student and the fact that each new home has an average impact of increasing the school population by one-half of a student.
