  The Etruscans - Vulci
After the crisis of the 5th century BC, which did not seriously affect Vulci, the recovery of the following century led to the construction of new public works, such as the walls and the temple, discovered in the urban area.
On the site of the ancient city, it is possible to see the remains of a villa dating from the 1st century BC, a long stretch of a Roman road, the foundations of an Etruscan temple and the remains of two doors in the city walls.
The tombs of the 6th and 5th centuries BC are generally of the sarcophagus type.

 Vulci - Wikipedia

Archaeologicai Nature Park of Vulci - Latium - Welcome to Italy
Approximately 14 kilometres in the direction of Manciano is the Archaeologicai Nature Park of Vulci, recently established in the area occupied in ancient times by the large Etruscan metropolis of Vulci.
The park owes its existence to a project managed by the Con-sorzio Arethusa in concert with the Ministry of Culture and the Environment and the Archaeology Superintendency for Southern Etruria.
Numerous rivulets tumble down the steep canyon walls forming sparkling little falls, and directly under the acropolis of the ancient city, the Fiora, after surmounting a huge natural disparity in levels, expands to form the suggestive Laghetto del Pellicone.

  Velch (Roman Vulci)
As a member of the Dodecapoli or 12 City States of Etruria, Vulci became one of the most important city states of Etruria, and settlement of the general area was attested along the Fiora (Armenta) valley and on the surrounding hills from the 2nd Millennium BCE.
By the 6th Century, Vulci had become one of the richest cities of Etruria, and, dominated by a growing aristocracy, it began to expand its influence and territory.
A testament to this phase is found in the saga of Mastarna and his comrades Aulus and Caeles Vibenna, as portrayed in the frescos of the later François tomb.

The city of Vulci stood on lower ground than its necropolis; not so much therefore is to be seen from its site, as from the opposite cliffs, from which spot the stern grandeur of the scene is most imposing.
Vulci has none of the tall fl ware with figures in relief, which is peculiar to Chiusi and its neighbourhood; but of painted vases there is every variety — from the earliest, quaintest efforts, through every grade of excellence, to the highest triumphs of Hellenic ceramographic art.

I present the hypothesis that the earliest Greek style pottery of Etruscan Vulci had more in common with the painted wares of Euboea than does the pottery of the “Euboean colony” of Pithekoussai.
The style of the Vulci pottery was more similar in quality and style to the Euboean style of mainland Greece.
I also demonstrate that the closest connections for the pottery industry on Pithekoussai are to be found in the Etruscan city of Tarquinia, when Greek Geometric style pottery was already declining in fashion.

The archaeological site of Vulci is huge, both badly and incompletely excavated in the old days with considerable areas remaining to be dug.
However, he further fits in with characteristics [6] commonly ascribed to Vulcian output - a sense of ornate decoration, a harmony that enchants the eye and keeps it glued on the statuette which, in our case though fairly flat, is three-dimensional and fully satisfying in the round.
