Morrowind Architecture - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Redoran architecture is found primarily in the Ashlands Region of Western Vvardenfell, and is so named for House Redoran, one of the three main political factions on Vvardenfell.
The city of Vivec, the largest in Vvardenfell, is composed of a number of nearly identical cantons.
The largest city on Vvardenfell, Vivec (The centre of the Tribunal faith on Vvardenfell, and home of Vivec, one of the three Living Gods of the Tribunal) is designed in this manner, consisting of massive multi-level structures composing the individual cantons, made of some form of clay within which are enclosed entire communities.

Theories on the general nature of Vvardenfell, and of the surrounding inner sea, and considering the circular nature of the inner sea and the volcanic nature of the island, two possibilities for the formation of this region of Tamriel need to be discussed.
It is not known whether the Dwarves of Vvardenfell were destroyed by the first eruption of the volcano, or whether they had already met the mysterious fate of their brethren across Tamriel (see Marobar Sul's Ancient Tales of the Dwemer for a full discussion of the disappearance of the Dwarves).
The hypothesis could be tested by measuring the sea depth in the north of Vvardenfell and studying the sediments on the sea floor in general.

Four Fat Chicks -- Morrowind Review
Vvardenfell is a bleak place, as the screen captures on the right will attest.
The bestiary of Vvardenfell fits in with the overall clime of the place—there are plenty of repulsive insects and slime-dribbling creepy crawlies that occupy the sometimes marshy, sometimes dust-choked geography of the island.
Vvardenfell's religion is based on worship of living gods who themselves are tangible manifestations of Daedric concepts.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Walkthrough/FAQ - IGN FAQs
Vvardenfell District encompasses Vvardefell Island, a great land mass dominated by the giant volcano Red Mountain and cut off from mainland Morrowind by the surrounding Inner Sea.
Vvardenfell has nine basic geographic regions, each with their own distinctive plants and terrain features.
The region is rocky, infertile, and largely uninhabited, except for the outpost at Molag Mar, the Telvanni settlements at Sadrith Mora, the wizard towers at Tel Aruhn, Tel Mora, and Tel Branora, and Ahemmusa camp and the remote fishing villages of Ald Redaynia and Dagon Fel on the north coast.

The settled southwest is green and rolling, with the plantations of the Ascadian Isles lakes district, farms and grazing lands, open woods and parklands, and gentle coastlines.
Ken Rolston: For millennia, Vvardenfell was a protected private preserve of the Tribunal Temple, sacred to the God-Kings of Morrowind.
After Morrowind entered the Empire, however, Vvardenfell was opened to settlement, precipitating a land rush between representatives of three native Great Houses, each with very different and incompatible lifestyles and values, competing with Imperial colonists of all races from all over the Empire.

One of the best things about Vvardenfell and indeed the game itself is the fact that you can literally go anywhere on the continent that you like, except on top of steep mountains and the like — although this can be overcome with the help of a levitation item or spell.
In your inventory windows is a map of Vvardenfell, illuminating areas that you’ve travelled to and marking towns that you’ve been to.
The continent of Vvardenfell has been bestowed with life in the form of twisting rivers, ponds, varieties of plants and trees and changing environments; one minute you may be wandering through the swamp surrounding the town of Seyda Neen, and the next through the sandy deserts inside and outside of the town of Ald-Ruhn.

Vvardenfell features a host of creatures, ranging from rats to Golden Saints, the Morrowind equivalent of angels clad in golden armor.
For example, if your character is a glutton for punishment, you could create a shirt that restores your health by the second, saving you the trouble of returning to town on long treks or dragging heavy potions along.
Not everyone in Vvardenfell can afford such enchantments, though, but that's okay: scattered throughout the land are various special weapons with their own unique enchantments already intact.

The section on Vvardenfell is highly relevant, and is offered here as a contextual tool to help those both familiar and unfamiliar with the series:
The doughty Dwarves, secure in their underground fastness and united into one polity, were a far more formidable foe than the divided and feuding Dark Elven clans, and remained independent when the rest of Morrowind fell to the Nords.

Vvardenfell, if enjoyed properly, can be an exotic, exciting destination featuring some of the best adventure travel in all of Tamriel.
However, it can also be one of the most dangerous and least hospitable lands to travel through, if one is not mentally and physically equipped to deal with its extremes, especially for those who come from the other side of its shores.
The purpose of this guide is to educate the reader on what to expect on Vvardenfell, as well as be a sightseeing guide, mapbook, and general guide to the entire who, what, and where of the island.

It's great to finally be involved in the larger figures of the Dark Elves' history and to finally venture from the land of Vvardenfell, though it's unfortunate that you're still very highly restricted to a relatively tiny piece of off-shore land.
Unless you're a high-level character of considerable evil and power, it's unlikely that you'll get your hands on any of it, since the ones who wear them are both strong and in the service of a god and a king.
Almalexia's Temple is quite the sight to behold, as are a few of the underground waterfalls and cavernous chambers - not to give away any particularly interesting plot twists -- to be found underneath the city, while even less important structures such as the city's manor district is nicely done and fits perfectly.

It is also worth noting that Solstheim, unlike Vvardenfell, lacks a public transportation system, leaving footsteps or flight as the only means of transit.
The inhabitants of the island are more conversational than those on Vvardenfell, and there's a lot of quest-related speech that helps overcome the turgid, repetitious contents of the conversation dialogue-box.
