The capital of the county was Nagyszőllős (Vynohradiv Ukrainian,Sevlush in Rusyn, Vinogradov in Russian).
The county Ugocsa was recreated, again with Nagyszőllős (Vynohradiv) as capital.
Vynohradiv is presently in Ukraine, Halmeu is presently in Romania.

The "Romano Drom" Roma organization in Vynohradiv has informed Romani Yag that the Roma school in Vynohradiv has been closed.
The building in which the school was housed was supposed to only be used for the Roma school.
However, the new head of the Vynohradiv regional administration Oleh Liubymov has opened a social work division on the premises.

The late bishop, who died of a heart problem, was consecrating a new altar in the village church.
Bishop Ivan Marhitych was born on 4 February 1921 in the village of Borzhavske, Vynohradiv district, Transcarpathia region.
During his studies in the Khust gymnasium, he dreamed of being a missionary in Africa or Asia, but could not make this dream come true due to the outbreak of WWII.

The participants highly praised the joint efforts of both patriarchates to solve current religious problems in Ukrainian society.
KYIV - Metropolitan Volodymyr Sabodan, head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church - Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), on July 28 ordained two bishops as archbishops: Anatolii (Hladky) of Sarny and Polissia (northern Ukraine) and Bishop Ioann (Siopko) of Khust and Vynohradiv (southwestern Ukraine's Transcarpathia region).
Archbishop Anatolii was born in the Khmelnytskyi region of central Ukraine in 1957.

Since the revolutionary changes of the late 1980s, the remnants of the Jewish community in the Carpathians have begun to reorganize.
In Subcarpathian Rus' (Ukraine's Transcarpathia), there are an estimated 3,500 Jews organized in eight communities in the cities and towns of Uzhhorod, Mukacevo, Berehovo, Vynohradiv, Svaljava, Tjaciv, Chust, and Jasinja.
Each community functions independently and has its own synagogue, although at present none has its own rabbi.
