		As WBO moves through its 25th year, what better way to celebrate than by honoring 25 outstanding Montgomery County women, who, each in her own way, are a positive force in our community, are role models for others, and whose spirit enlarges the canvas.
		WBO was established by a group of pioneering women who owned and operated their own businesses (at a time when this was a very uncommon thing for women to do) and who wanted to create a forum in which they could share information in a supportive environment.
		WBO is joining forces with community organizations to promote entry of women in the workplace: our scholarship for a Montgomery County resuming student; a relationship with Suited for Change and Dwelling Place; the Athena Award; the Rockville Chamber Women in Business Fair startright program.

		The 26-year-old Alcazar, who was stopped in the sixth round of his 115-pound WBO title fight with Fernando Montiel, had been examined in the ring immediately after the fight and later in the dressing room.
		Alcazar, who was making the second defense of his WBO junior bantamweight title, brought a 25-0-1 record into the ring but was no match for Montiel.
		Alcazar took a number of hard head punches before the fight was finally stopped by referee Ken Bayless with him still standing in the sixth round.

		In a letter posted on the WBO website, wbo-int.com, Hamed's manager, his brother Riath, informs the president of the World Boxing Organisation, Francisco Valcarcel, of Hamed's decision to vacate the title.
		Signed by Riath Hamed, the letter also states that Hamed wanted to keep his No1 ranking and be allowed to fight for the WBO belt in the near future.
		Hamed celebrated his fifth anniversary of becoming WBO champion on September, and claims on his own official website that he is still WBO featherweight champion.
