Disney spent five years of his life developing Disneyland and created a new subsidiary of his company, called WED Enterprises, to carry out the planning and production of the park.
A small group of Disney studio employees joined the Disneyland development project as engineers and planners, and were dubbed Imagineers.

Disney Enterprises, Inc., commonly seen in company legal notices, is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company.
On December 16 the original partnership formed in 1923 is replaced by Walt Disney Productions, Ltd. Three other companies, Walt Disney Enterprises, Disney Film Recording Company, and Liled Realty and Investment Company, are also formed.
