The WIBF (Women's International Boxing Federation) is, along with the IWBF and others, one of the most recognized worldchampionship fight sanctioning organizations in Women's boxing.
Theorganization is based in Miami, Florida, and is not associated withmale boxing's IBF.
The WIBF was formed in the middle 1990s.

 Women in Banking and Finance in Ireland Inaugural Event
Addressing the WIBF context of the evening, Mary Harney spoke about women's increasing role in Irish business and public life highlighting the fact that although women are beginning to move into the most senior positions, their representation is still low and does not reflect their contribution to Irish commercial or public life.
She went on to stress the importance of groups like WIBF underlining the value of networking opportunities, role models, and confidence-building mechanisms, which are all vital if we are to enhance the position of women in our economic life.
The WIBF working group plans a strategy meeting in Dublin in November of this year, at which the formal structure for the organisation in Ireland will be agreed, and the programme of activities for 2005 will be prepared.

The WIBF is a not-for-profit organisation which aims primarily to provide women working in the Financial Services sector with a networking platform.

To give them markets for their products WIBF conducted monthly market days, which became so popular they are now almost a Samoan way of life.
Realising that most of the hardships were being felt by those living in rural villages, the WIBF changed its focus in 1995, and began training programs in the rural areas.

She was GBU world champion in Super Bantamweight in 2003, WIBF world champion in Super Flyweight from 1999 to 2003, and is residing GBU world champion in Bantamweight.
After winning another fight by knockout in round 2, she defended the WIBF European Bantamweight title on March 27 1999 against Anastasia Toktaulova winning in ten rounds.
She drew against Silke Weickenmeier on January 18 2003, in a fight for the GBU Super Bantamweight title, but won the rematch on May 10 with a majority decision in ten rounds.

On March 7, 1998 in Köln, she retained the WIBF Flyweight title by again defeating Lisa Houghton on points over 10 rounds; Houghton was a late replacement for the USA's Pam Barker, and fell to 0-3 as a pro boxer with this loss.
On July 10, 1999 at the Sporthalle in Augsburg, Germany, in her 20th world title bout, Regina weighed in at 108 lbs and defended the WIBF world Junior Flyweight (renamed from Flyweight) title before a near capacity crowd of 2800 with a TKO of Hungarian Erzsébet Borosi (105½ lbs) at 1:25 of the eighth round.
On July 21, 2001 at Tivoli Eissporthalle in Aachen, Germany, she again defended the WIBF Junior Flyweight title and moved to 37-1 (13 KO's) with a hard fought ten-round unanimous (98-96,97-95,96-94) decision in a rematch with Ukrainian southpaw Alina Shaternikova.

Girgrah became the first Middle Eastern woman to be a world champion in boxing history when she knocked out Mullet in the fourth round, in a fight that was, once again, held in Atlantic City.
Girgrah won her next three bouts, but she did not expose the WIBF title in any of those fights, reason why she was stripped of the WIBF championship.
Fighting for the vacant championship that she had vacated herself, Girgrah met Michele Nielsen on August 24, with Girgrah recovering the title by a ten round decision win, once again, in Atlantic City.

Canino started out as a professional kickboxer in 1987 (she competed as an amateur for three years before) because she had more opportunities to compete than she would have had as a boxer; she won two world championships before dropping everything to begin her professional boxing career in 1995.
That was the year, Canino says, that Las Vegas first sanctioned women's boxing, and WIBF's Buttrick spent her life's savings to bring in top women kickboxers from all over the world for a gala, all-woman card at the Aladdin Hotel.
Canino thus won her first world title -- the WIBF featherweight belt -- in her first pro fight.

Yvonne made her mark by winning the WIBF (then Super) Flyweight title in an April 20 1995 brawl in Las Vegas with teenaged German star Regina Halmich.
