WIN Television - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
WIN television used to widely use a modified version of the Nine Network logo on all its stations, regardless of if they were a sole Nine Network affiliate or not.

WIN's majority owner, Bruce Gordon, recently increased his stake in Network Ten, in what could be viewed as an attempt to become a major media player in Australia once media ownership laws are changed (which is widely expected to occur during the forthcoming term of the Howard government).

Encyclopedia :: encyclopedia : Television syndication   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
Syndication differs from selling the show to a television network; once a network picks up a show, it is usually guaranteed to run on all the network's affiliates, on the same day of the week and at the same time (in a given timezone, in countries where this is a concern).
Ziv Television Programs, Inc., after establishing itself as a major radio syndicator, was the first major first-run television syndicator, creating several long-lived series in the 1950s and selling them directly to regional sponsors, who in turn sold the shows to local stations.
One of the best-known internationally syndicated television series has been "The Muppet Show," which was produced in England and shown on their commercial network ITV, and appeared around the world, including the United States, where it aired in syndication.

Television Without Pity » Survivor » All-Star Reunion
It has been perfectly obvious to me from the minute I started watching that this was not the case and could not be the case, simply because the audience almost never gets its way.
But now, with this "twist," you win just by being good television, which sort of makes the show about itself in an unsettlingly meta kind of way.
You get a million dollars -- the same prize that goes to the person who guts it out for more than a month and bests a whole crowd of other people using whatever methods he or she has to -- just for being popular.
