		WKTV suggests that, because Syracuse is not located in the same county as any of the communities, Syracuse residents don't share the same concerns regarding local government and local services as do residents of the communities.
		WKTV argues that the communities in Lewis County are closer to and in fact, identify with, the Utica ADI.

	USCA National Mixed Curling Championships - Utica Curling Club
		The Challenge will pit 12 novice curling teams against each other in a fun competition to raise funds for local charities and to also promote the 2000 Mixed Nationals, which will be held at the club March 18-25.

		I doubt that it will be shown on ESPN, but both WKTV and WUTR usually rebroadcast a portion of their shows.
		I thought that WKTV's broadcast was particularly weak, although they did have some decent footage of the leaders from time to time (the video broke up a bit and the media truck audio was bad as usual, but it was good to see Jerry Lawson cranking along the Parkway for a while).
		Other than the hired guns (Dave Oja for WUTR and Jim O'OBrien for WKTV), the commentary was lackluster and sometimes incorrect.

		UTICA -- After four and a half years as a news anchor on WKTV NewsChannel 2, Susan Tran announced Wednesday she has accepted a job as a general assignment reporter with FOX 25 WFXT in Boston.
		A 1997 graduate of Boston University, Tran started at WKTV in December 1998 after working for a short period of time as a production assistant and field producer at WFXT.
		She was hired by WKTV's general manager, Vic Vetters, who offered her the opportunity to co-anchor the noon newscast with him, as well as producing the NewsChannel 2 Live At Five broadcast.
