WMAC stayed on-air for nearly three hours with the induction of each new member and the presentation of the Chairman’s Award to Natalie Cohen.
WMAC personalities Kenny Burgamy and Jami Gaudet conducted interviews with inductees Nancy Lopez, Chip Kell and Cindy Brogdon.
I’m glad I came along when I did because I am known as a pioneer of women’s basketball.

 WMAZ-TV - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The station signed on for the first time on September 27, 1953, owned by Southeastern Broadcasting Company along with WMAZ-AM 940 (now WMAC) and WMAZ-FM 99.1 (now WDEN).
Southeastern Broadcasting won a television license on its second try; it had previously made an unsuccessful bid for channel 7 a year earlier.
WMAZ's callsign comes from its AM sister's roots as a physics project at Mercer University.

AM radio is a very exiting band to listen to if one can stand the static and interference.
AM Broadcast Band reception is different than FM reception.
The distance that AM stations can go is limited by wattage and other stations on the same frequency, which also "mix" with what you are trying to listen to, unlike FM stations which "overtake" one another.

And today the station is WMAC and their now 10 year old morning show is where Macon talks about local, national and world issues.
First the call letters, AM 1670 uses call letters that were short lived on AM 940 in Macon, the former WMAZ-AM (now WMAC).
The call letters WMWR may stand for the area of Macon/Warner Robins, but the joke in the past was that the letters stood for "We're mean White Republicans" as if that the bulk of the audience for talk radio at that time.
