  Adelman v. Town of Baldwin
The testimony offered by WMTW indicated that the completed WMTW tower would not have a significant negative impact on the surrounding property values in the Town of Baldwin and that any impact would not be greater than would normally occur from such a use in the zoning district.
WMTW explained that the tower needed to be 1667 feet tall because the height of the tower correlated to the strength of the signal.{6} [¶16] The Board heard testimony concerning the nuisance factors it was required to consider pursuant to section 3(1)(c).
The Town and WMTW both assert that the court properly granted a summary judgment because the amendments to the ordinance are consistent with the comprehensive plan.

 WMTW (ABC)
Local WMTW IDs/promos used in 1982 to 1984 (perhaps earlier as well?) were often similar to network IDs, except the ABC logo would be replaced with a superimposed, very cheap looking number "8" spinning, as it must have been sitting on a turntable.
Montrealers may remember WMTW as “the white 8” or “the other ABC affiliate.” Because Mount Washington is the Northeast's highest peak, more than 6200 feet above sea level, WMTW enjoyed a coverage area that other stations could only dream of, hence its availability on Videotron and CF Cable until the early 90s.
WMTW stayed on cable until the early 90s, meaning that for about 20 years, Montrealers had two ABC stations.

WMTW- TV states that it features two 30-second Community Event Calendar spots, on average highlights 2-4 events each month taking place in southern New Hampshire, participates in community fund-raisers, and awards a journalism scholarship to one recipient each year.
Moreover, although WMTW- TV does show viewership in Merrimack and Strafford Counties, MediaOne argues that it is easily eclipsed by that of the Boston ABC affiliate, WMUR-TV, in all dayparts.
Further, while WMTW- TV has shown that it provides locally-focused programming to the communities, it has not provided any information to conclude that WCVB-TV and WMUR-TV, or indeed any other Boston ADI station eligible to be carried, fails to provide adequate news coverage or other local programming.

And even that’s stretching it because WMTW doesn’t claim to be a talk station.
Perhaps the WMTW situation wouldn’t be so bad if its drivel-based programming was limited to one station.
But thanks to corporate WMTW’s buying spree a couple years ago, Early Edition is simulcast on three different frequencies (870 AM, 1470 AM, 106.7 FM), further reducing the number of different voices on the airwaves.

WMTW (Channel 8) executive vice president David Kaufman said Wednesday, although he is saddened, it was something that had to be done to enhance its mandated digital communications to its primary market area in southern and mid-Maine markets, concentrated in the Portland area.
In a press release, Kaufman said transferring its main transmission facilities to a 1,687-foot tower atop a 2,500-foot hilltop in southern Maine has made a difference where the television station's signals will be received.
An Adelphia cable TV spokesperson said that since "WMTW is out of business," the cable network will eventually be seeking another channel to replace it.

The advent of cable and digital television began to erode the advantages of broadcasting from such a height, though.
When WMTW was granted its digital TV construction permit on channel 46, it was clear that a DTV signal would not reach Portland from Mount Washington with any reliability and the die was cast for a new tower just down the road from the existing WCSH-TV (Channel 6) site northwest of Portland for WMTW-DT.
