Their sister station, WNSW 1430AM, includes programs from Ecuador, Bosnia and 12 hours of Chinese Cantonese programming.
Most of the programs vary in length from one to two hours, and are recorded by independent producers in the New York City area.
While it would be difficult for many of the programmers to survive on their own, WPAT’S and WNSW's brokered formats allow the producers to pay for the programs by the hour, says Heinemeyer.

If WNSW would proceed with its plans (currently at least on hold) to move to the WPAT site and increase to 50 kW, they might even have a competitive signal.
Of course, for that plan to work, the upgrade would have to be completed sometime before the end of the third millennium.

Prior to the format switch, WNSW (as WNJR) was running a leased-time ethnic format in mono, and it seems as though they had a stereo exciter for several years but had it switched off.
