WPP Group, the world's second-largest advertising and marketing group, Friday said revenue grew 23 percent for the latest quarter, driven by strong growth in Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and the United States.
WPP said revenue rose to 1.37 billion pounds ($2.45 billion) in the first quarter of 2006, compared with 1.11 billion pounds in the same period in 2005.
WPP said it is considering increasing its share buyback program, which currently targets the repurchase of up to 2 percent of its share capital in the market at an approximate cost of 175 million pounds ($312.5 million).

On Jan. 11, WPP sued Benatti in a London court, seeking unspecified damages as the result of Benatti's alleged breach of terms—expressed and "implied"—in his consultancy agreement with the company.
WPP in Milan was broken into the weekends of Jan. 14 and Jan. 21, sources said.

By region, WPP's like-for-like growth was up 9.4 percent in Asia Pacific, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, 4.5 percent in North America, 4.5 percent in continental Europe and 1.2 percent in the UK.
