WRAM 【Window RAM 】 (Window Random Access Memory) - e-Words - A Glossary of Computers and Internet
Window RAM or WRAM is a dual-ported memory type which is similar to VRAM.
However WRAM is no longer to be found on new devices; for graphics cards, it was rapidly superseded by SGRAM and DDR-SDRAM.
WRAM was used by Matrox on both their MGA Millennium and Millennium II video cards.

Window RAM - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Window RAM or WRAM is an obsolete type of semiconductor computer memory that was designed to replace video RAM (VRAM) in graphics adapters.
It was developed by Samsung and also marketed by Micron Technology, but had only a short market life before being superseded by SDRAM (synchronous DRAM) and SGRAM (synchronous graphics RAM).
WRAM has a dual-ported dynamic RAM structure similar to that of VRAM, with one parallel port and one serial port, but has extra features to enable fast block copies and block fills (so-called window operations).

 Window RAM (WRAM)
Window RAM or WRAM is a modification of regular VRAM that both improves performance and reduces cost on a bit-for-bit basis.
Designed specifically for use in graphics cards, WRAM is also dual-ported but has about 25% more bandwidth than VRAM, and also incorporates additional features to allow for higher performance memory transfers for commonly used graphical operations such as text drawing and block fills.
WRAM is suitable for use in high-end graphics cards and was first made popular by Matrox's Millennium series.

It too was designed for use with graphics-intensive applications and uses a shift register for "data dumps." Unlike VRAM, the WRAM shift register can hold only 32 to 64 bits of data versus the 256 bits that the VRAM shift register can hold.
WRAM was designed with some simple logic that allows the system to perform faster by offloading some work from the graphics controller in very application specific scenarios.
WRAM was also optimised for a Windows environment, while VRAM was not.

WRAM is used by all the squadrons and units operating these aircraft to manage the 'as-maintained' configurations of their aircraft, and manage the scheduled maintenance of all rotable and lifed components.
WRAM is its ability to support remote deployed single aircraft units, and track assets from these units back to the main support bases and back into the repair loop.

With their dual-ported design, they enable the graphics processor to read and redraw the screen simultaneously, eliminating the problem from single-ported memory types, where the memory can only he read from or written to at one time, and the graphics engine must wait each time the screen is updated.
