WSM could face changes, Gaylord says
WSM General Manager John Padgett told the on-air staff that management was ''considering options'' about the station operation.
Response to old-time music from WSM's many rural listeners was so strong that the show was institutionalized and elevated into a live show with an audience.
In the 1950s, WSM employees were crucial to launching Nashville's recording studios, talent booking agencies and music publishers.

 Summer Trip
" ( WSM history) WSM had the nation's first FM station 1941 at 44.7 mhz, changed 1947 to 100.1 mhz until off air 1951, back on air with WLWM-FM at 95.5 mhz.
The WSM tower in 1932 with its diamond shape antenna was tallest in North America at 878 ft. for a clear channel 50,000 watts at 650 kc by 1932.
"WSM engineers would look to other locales to perfect their recording techniques and they soon fashioned a studio out of the ballroom of the now defunct Tulane Hotel.

SBE Chapter 103 - Nashville Tennessee
Due in large part to the broadcasts of WLAC and WSM, Nashville became known as "Music City USA." Their late-night clear-channel signals beamed Blues, Rock-and-Roll, R and B and, yes, even Country music, into the homes and cars of America.

BigSoccer Boards - Latest official patches for FM 2005 / WSM 2005
- FM doesn't take 100% CPU when not processing, including while being the active application.
The increase from the announced size is due to the language packs being included.
Sure its a bit annoying to have players on clubs in August of 2004 who didn't really get there until 2005 but the other changes make it worth that slight issue.

Tennessee’s Wild Side - The Stories
Bill made his way to Nashville via Lexington, Kentucky, then San Antonio, Texas, but working for WSM was his life-long dream and that dream was realized in 1994 when he came aboard 650 WSM.
He eventually hung around enough to be “adopted” by the disc jockeys, who taught him the ropes and eventually put the frightened teenager on the air.
Since then Bill has added to his list of accomplishments co-hosting, by co-hosting two nationally syndicated radio shows, the Nashville Record Review with Katie Haas, and Country’s Most Wanted with his Cody and Crew partner, Amie Harper.

A selection from a decade of visits to tower and studio sites in the Northeast and beyond
From the WSM tower, you can look north and west to see several very tall TV and FM towers, carrying with them an interesting history linked to Nashville's third TV station.
On the way out of town, we saw just one station: WSM, which merited its very own episode of Tower Site of the Week.
In any event, these two towers just north of Old Hickory Road are WKRN on channel 2 and the PBS outlet on channel 8, now known as WNPT ("Nashville Public Television"), and still shared with WSIX-FM (97.9), the market's country radio giant.
