Musical programs, both vocal and instrumental, as well as addresses on timely subjects and sermons, are being received daily and all the big sporting events are now broadcast.
The radio fans of Meriden have not looked forward to any program with the universal interest being taken in the "Meriden Night" program to be broadcast from station WTIC of the Travelers insurance company of Hartford tonight.

Dick Bertel left WTIC in the 1970's and began a second career at The Voice of America in Washington, DC, where he was their Executive Producer.
He has been a member of the WTIC family since July 1965 and in July 2006, he celebrated his 58th Anniversary in broadcasting.
In the 1970's, with declining listenership at night, WTIC in Hartford, CT, decided that there was a market for long-form shows that could be packaged and sold to sponsors.
