Jay Severin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The status of his show at WTKK, "Extreme Games", was left in doubt, but ultimately both parties agreed he would return to the station with his new syndicated show.
In December 2005, WTKK announced on their website that Jay Severin would be broadcast following Michael Graham, silencing rumors that he would be moving to a competing station.
Severin is libertarian on social and economic issues, and isolationist on international affairs, supporting Pat Buchanan’s ideology.

We are writing to express our shock over the remarks reportedly made on the air last Thursday by FM 96.9 WTKK personality Jay Severin in which he suggested to "kill all Muslims" as a solution to problems this nation is currently facing.
We are strongly opposed to government censorship, but using a talk-radio format to propose the killing of an entire religious group shows a particularly reckless use of the privilege to hold an FCC license to broadcast.
We would like to be a constructive partner in addressing these issues, but it is important for the entire community that WTKK show leadership in demonstrating an understanding of the problem.

Severin has been the afternoon driver (3 p.m.-7 p.m.) on Greater Media's WTKK Boston since that station debuted its current talk format in September 1999.
That leaves room for Severin to potentially remain on WTKK, since Boston is ranked market number 11 in the Spring 2005 Arbitrons.
Before joining WTKK, Severin hosted late nights on Entercom talk WRKO in the market.

When Jay isn't on (which is a lot, these days) WTKK simply runs Hannity live (as well as in the 10p-1a slot it's normally shuffled to).
In the case of the former, there has not only been no response from Jimmy "Jay Severin" Severino about the accusations in the Globe column, nor is there Severin patting himself on the back for landing a syndicated show with Infinity starting in January (Boston affiliate undetermined).
WTKK is again running Hannity live in his place (which isn't bad).

While many of these stations are targeting men 18-34 and 25-49, the new Boston FM Talk station--96.9 FM (WTKK)--sounds like it's aiming for public radio listeners.
WTKK, one of five stations in the market owned by Greater Media, is co-opting public radio's positioning through a series of produced spots touting "listener-supported radio, 96.9 FM," followed by a montage of listener testimonials.
The station's positioning statements are "SmartTalk" and "Live and Local." Its on-air hosts have high profiles in the community, or boast their journalistic credentials and keep a finger on the pulse of politics and culture.

It doesn't really interfere with WTKK in any real sense, but technically it required an FCC waiver because of the FCC's somewhat arbitrary "3rd adjacent" (three spaces away on the dial) interference rules.
It is hard to narrow it down when it comes to waves and so many signals around the area and the shifting and crowding college stations playing a role in it too.

Echoing previous reported comments by 'EEI program director Jason Wolfe, Callahan aimed his fire at the Globe's alleged hypocrisy for allowing sportswriters Will McDonough and Dan Shaughnessy to appear regularly on former Globe columnist Mike Barnicle's show on WTKK Radio (96.9 FM).
As Callahan accurately noted, Barnicle had "disgraced" his ex-employer by writing fabricated and plagiarized columns.
As for the fact that WTKK also employs Severin and carries Imus, Callahan's taking the guilt-by-association thing too far.
