WTXF-TV - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
After TVX sold about half their smaller stations to separate owners, the rest of the company was sold, including WTXF, to Paramount Pictures in 1989.
When competitor WKBS-TV left the air in 1983, the station placed advertisements in TV Guide and local papers stating that despite the departure of Channel 48, Channel 29 was still around and that viewers still had it as a choice.
In 1994, Paramount announced that WTXF would drop its FOX affiliation in 1995 and become the Philadelphia affiliate for the new United Paramount Network, which it then co-owned with Chris-Craft.
