 [No title]
In contrast to the Board of Trade files for WW1, the surviving files for the period relating to WW2 are silent both on details of any staff who died and on the question of a war memorial.
This has resulted in details of six Board of Trade staff known to have lost their lives in WW2, which are recorded in the index.
There is scope for more research and we would be interested to hear from anyone who is knowledgeable about the history of this Ministry and/or intends to start researching it, perhaps using files which have been preserved at the Public Record Office.

 Allied WW2 b
If you have looked at the weapons in WW1 page you will know that the 2 inch mortar from that war was very big because the 2 inches was the size of the 'stick' that ejected from the mortar, not the size of the bomb.
In WW2 the 2 inch mortar was a small easily used and easily transported tube.
It was used by infantry, commandos, air borne troops and vehicle mounted troops.

IGN Boards - Im sick of WW2
I was just expressing my displeasure with the fact that there have been so many WW2 shooters that the excitement I used to feel for them has dwindled into nothing.
I also posted this thread because I wanted to know if there were any COD fans like myself hoping for a change from the ww2 theme to a fresh theme piloted by the series creators.
I had gotten sick of WW2 games for a while as well, to a point where I didn't buy COD 2 even though I was a huge fan of COD and COD:UO.

Battlefields of WW2 by Paul Reed
The principal aim of Battlefields of WW2 is to provide the Battlefield Visitor with information on what there is to see, how to go about doing it and raising awareness in these battlefields.
The site is now more than six years old, and in that time Battlefields of WW2 has expanded from just looking at Normandy, to Arnhem, the Ardennes, the history of British Army Divisions and now the Italian Campaign of 1943-45.
Your comments are always welcome, and if I can help with a visit to a particular battlefield then email me using one of the many email links.
