WWOR-TV - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
NPS discontinued WWOR in 1999, in favor of Pax.
On June 2, WWOR changed its logo again, this time adopting one similar to the logo presented at the My Network TV launch announcement, and this logo will likely be the one used when the new network launches in September.
The callsign WWOR originally belonged to a station operating on channel 14 in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Rothman argued in his letter, however, that WWOR's recent decision to relocate their headquarters means that WWOR will not be living up to its commitment to the community.
Since WWOR will no longer be based in New Jersey, I am troubled that the station's move may be in violation of its federal licensing agreement, which requires the station to serve the public interest in its licensed area.

News Release   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-30)
The FCC revoked WWOR's license in the early 1980s after an investigation determined that the station's parent company, General Tire and Rubber Co., had engaged in corporate misconduct.
The license was ultimately reinstated to WWOR, but the granting of the license was contingent on the station's agreement to relocate to New Jersey and provide coverage of local, New Jersey news.
Rothman had argued that WWOR's relocation of its headquarters to New York would have violated the very condition upon which the license was given and meant that the station was no longer living up to its commitment to the community.

In response to the Company's proposals on unlimited use of temps and upgrades, your Committee referred the Company to the Guild's proposals on temps -- that plausible staff shifts be filled with staff writers -- as a far more reasonable solution to the "use of temps" problem.
Your Committee rejected WWOR's pocketbook demands -- stating repeatedly that the Company has given no reason to concede to such significant economic give-backs especially given the current success of the Company.
In addition, it was made clear that WWOR would have to negotiate a wage increase or editing fee commensurate with the new job responsibility and provide adequate training on the new equipment before the Guild could accept these new duties.
