Today is the tenth anniversary of the webcast of WXYC, the student radio station at UNC-Chapel Hill.
As a student, I had a show on WXYC on Sunday nights immediately after the smooth jazz stylings of Solomon Gibson III -- whose mellow I harshed with Stiff Little Fingers and The Undertones before he could get out of the building.
The gig carried a small amount of stature -- it was the height of the new wave, and WXYC was an influential station in the movement.

However, a better WXYC signal would interfere with a new station based in Spring Lake, near Fayetteville, that also plans to sign on at 89.3.
