  Wacaday
Wacaday was a children's television series that ran in TV-am's school holidays slot from 1985 until 1992 and was hosted by Timmy Mallett.
Wacaday was introduced because Roland Rat, the puppet host of TV-am's previous holidays slot, had been sold to the BBC to ease the troubled station's financial difficulties.
With only one week until the new show was due to start, it was decided to produce a spin-off of the already successful Saturday morning programme, Wide Awake Club.

Timmy is most well known for hosting 'Wacaday', a high speed children's show which ran from the mid 1980's to early 1990's.
He has also had a number one single and is just as well known for his outrageous glasses.
Now, because of this, the title music tells you nothing about the show, because the creators didn't know what 'Wacaday' was going to be about.

Wide Awake Club - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The programme was so successful that it launched two spin-offs: Wacaday, a programme for holiday mornings presented solely by Timmy Mallett that became even more successful than its parent, and WAC Extra, a Sunday morning version of the show.
Both Wide Awake Club and Wacaday introduced the Wacawave, done by making a 'w', by putting ones thumbs together, and waving.
However, that was not the end of the Wide Awake Club franchise as Wacaday continued until 1992.

The Bourbon Biscuit would have shed a crumb right in the path of an ailing earwig, which would have feasted on it and not died, as it did in our World, of peckishness.
The earwig would have then crawled into Timmy Mallett's ear and steered him to election victory over Margaret Thatcher for the 'Wacaday Party' in 1987.

Wide awake club used to be on on Saturdays and Wacaday was a special version for non-Saturdays that people would be off school.
The theme tune used to be "It's Saturday, no school today, so what you gonna do?" and then for Wacaday they changed it to "It's Wacaday, no school today...." I suppose they just called it Wacaday so it would fit in with the theme tune (well that's what I always thought anyway)
Eventually I think they did away with the Wide Awake Club and just called it Wacaday all the time?
