		Immortal is sort of an odd band to see in the daylight--there's something vaguely ludicrous about corpse paint and bullet belts in full summer sunlight--but what I saw of their set was excellent.
		It was dark and starting to get cold and Wacken was almost over, but this band was taking their crowd to a whole new level, one you rarely reach even if you've been in the scene for years, even if you've been to dozens or scores or even hundreds of metal shows.

		Without a doubt one of Europe's best festivals is the Wacken Festival held annually with a plethora of fans as well as bands.

		Metalium gets one of the lower marks of the Wacken festival, which is a disappointment since I was hoping their set would be particularly strong.
		It’s very rare for a band to play Wacken two years in a row, but Nightwish was at Wacken 2000 and I’m curious to see how they follow their set.
		Unfortunately, they are late setting up, one of the only late bands at Wacken, so they only got in part of their set before the plug is pulled promptly at 3 am.

	Blistering.com Review: Armageddon Over Wacken - Live 2004
		Recorded during the 2004 installment of Wacken Open Air (arguably the biggest metal festival going), this 3CD set features luminaries from all fields of metal, broken down to cater to the specific styles on each disc.
		Disc 3 is full of signed, but barely visible bands such as Gun Barrel and Vanguard, neither of which have made much of an impact in the states.
		A half-decent soundboard recording renders this a worthwhile purchase, although a handful of these acts are well past their prime and are clinging to what little credibility they have left.

		When the topic of European Metal Festivals is amongst metal heads in deep discussion, one festival always comes to mind whether a resident of any of the European countries or North America.
		That would be the Wacken Open Air Festival which happens to be the longest running and most respected metal festival.
		The summer of 2004 saw Wacken celebrating it’s 15th Anniversary with a slew of acts ranging from Destruction, Children of Bodom, Dio, Motorhead, Feinstein, Nevermore, Anthrax, Mayhem, Brainstorm Blaze Bailey, and Cannibal Corpse.

		The first thing that surprise when you arrive to Wacken is to see such a small town full of people wearing fl T-shirts.
		Then you arrive to the exact point of the concert and you are struck by the camping place full of tents and all the infrastructure that this festival has.
		Their set consisted most in Satyricon tracks and some Darkthrone ones but every track was full of the darker than hell feeling that this guys have in their souls.

		They grew closer again and rediscovered some of the excitement of playing live.
		The CD has live performances from a tour in May of 1980, London in 1982, and from the concert in Wacken in 2003.
