The Baltic Waffen SS Units (Baltic Legions) are to be considered as separate and distinct in purpose, ideology, activities, and qualifications for membership from the German SS, and therefore the Commission holds them not to be a movement hostile to the Government of the United States.
Tangible evidence of their "elite" status was the award of named cuff titles to units of the Waffen SS; while the use of cuff titles was common in many military and paramilitary organizations in the Third Reich, there were few combat units permitted to wear them as a means of identification.
The Waffen-SS ("Armed SS") was the combat arm of the Schutzstaffel (SS,"Protective Squadron of the NSDAP").

Waffen SS at War tells the battle history but does a poor job making the people real, rather than simple demonic Nazi stereotypes.
This book is excellent in breaking down the origin of the Waffen SS units and in providing information on important Waffen personnel.
All in all, I would say that this book and The Waffen SS at War are complementary.

I was using Nonnob's Waffen SS but its size doesn't fit in with the rest of the PTW infantry, and as was previously mentioned historically most Heer and Waffen SS troopes used the K98 and not the MP40.
As far as the SS units in these scenarios, such as this particular unit, I have been working on putting the various unit unsignia (such as Liebstandarte, Nordland, Nederland, Das Reich, etc.) on the black crest in place of the SS runes.
It was designed to show the SS camouflage smock and trousers that were common by the end of the war.
