  Wągrowiec - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wagrowiec is constituted as a gmina miejska, or municipal commune.
Situated in the Greater Poland Voivodship since 1999, Wagrowiec was previously a part of the Pila Voivodship (1975-1998).
Following the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and the end of the Polish Defence War of 1939, the town was annexed to the German Reich.

To the north it borders on the counties of Czarnkow and Chodziez, to the east Wagrowiec and Gniezno counties, to the south Sroda and Poznan counties, and to the west Szamotuly and Czarnkow.
On the Warta, by Starczanowo, an ancient forest still stands, and a substantial stretch of forest winds along the eastern border of the county, from Gac to near Rogozno.
