ram muay and wai kru are not the same thing- wai kru is a dance to respect your teacher (kru) and ram muay is to ask for protection and victory (DONT quote me on that, im sure someone like khun khao can go into more detail)

Another bit of information is that before the fight, i performed the wai Khru and Ram Muay, but he didn't.
Either way, a flbelt in TKD should have some pretty effective kicks in his arsenal which could make a fight against him interesting.
Wai Kru to me is doubtful to providing spirit unless you get kicks out of tradition.

Muai Thai alas is becoming more and more a sport and the martial arts origins are slowly being forgotten.
I have visited many gyms which do not teach Ram Muay's to their pupils (meant to be specific to each gym or Kru), do not teach the history of Muay Thai, and do not even Wai the Kru.
I think many kickboxers who want to do full contact, then start training in Muay Thai to get use of the elbows and high kicks etc. They (tend to) have no respect for the tradition and are just interested in kicking the ****e out of their opponent.

Ok so yes, plenty of running, got 2 muay thai classes there (they are 2 hrs long) and got some heavy bag routines in there which are my own training regimes that are modified off of the muay thai classes.
Muay thai btw was nothing super different, we did a new drill to work situps but that was about it.
I was trying to get a pic of my Khru, but the fucking bimbo of a round girl jumped in to remind us that it was indeed Round 2 as being the mentally handicapped apes we are we could not count past one and thus had to be reminded.

When you find that a move you were taught doesn't work, and figure out a way to make it work, you will be told that this is no longer true to the style X, and if you try that crap at a belt test you will get points deducted.
