Serevi made his international 15s debut in 1988 in the Super Six competition and debuted at the Hong Kong 7s one year later.
Serevi was recalled to lead the Fiji 7s team for the Bordeaux and London tournaments in 2004 after a lengthy, winless period.
Although Serevi does not have the speed of the young, frisky lad who caught the world by storm at the 1989 Hong Kong 7s, his experience and knowledge are ever-increasing.

"Serevi's loss obviously has a huge impact on the squad because of his immense stature among the players," Charters told AFP.
Charters also confirmed that flanker Alivereti Mocelutu had broken the radius bone in his forearm - he had to go off in the 18th minute of the match - and was also out of contention for the remainder of the campaign.
