Walker Township was a temporary township form from Sergeant Township in 1812.
Walker Township was one of the five and was taken from the eastern end of Sergeant.
The township remained in existence for a few years, it being again heard from in 1823, at which time an application was made to the Lycoming County Court for the establishment of the line of Walker and Sergeant Townships.

 HISTORY OF HUNTINGDON COUNTY
There are in the county furnaces, forges, rolling mills, foundries, car, and industrial works, water and steam flouring and sawmills, water and steam sand-crushers, tanneries, furniture, chair, carriage, broom, shoe, and woolen manufactories, planing mills and numerous other industrial establishments.
Soon after the treaty of the 6th of July, 1754, settlers commenced improvements in choice spots throughout the present county, and early in the next year a number of warrants were granted by the land office, authorizing the survey and appropriation of tracts applied for.
Petersburg, on the Pennsylvania Railroad, at the junction of Shavers Creek with the Juniata River, six and one-half miles north of Huntingdon, was incorporated April 7, 1830.

State police this morning announced that investigations into two unrelated fires that occurred last week in Centre County led them to rule a fire in Howard was accidental, but one in Walker Township was the result of arson.
The Nov. 13 fire in a shed along 170 Sawmill Road in Walker Township destroyed about $15,000 worth of equipment that included four ATVs and a lawn tractor.
The Fire Marshal Unit found that the fire occurred in a first-floor bathroom of a house that had been converted into three apartments, and was ignited by a baseboard heater.

EBENSBURG -- A man charged with kidnapping and killing a Cambria County woman pleaded guilty to first-degree murder as part of an agreement that is expected to spare him a possible death sentence.
Not only is the Young Scholars of Central Pennsylvania seeking approval to add three grade levels, it has submitted plans to Ferguson Township to build a new one-story school with 14 classrooms and a gymnasium.
But outside of Pennsylvania, there are more than 20 communities that place the same claim to the national holiday's origins, oftentimes with the same fervor and certainty as that displayed in Boalsburg.
