John Anthony Walker - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
John Anthony Walker Junior (born July 28, 1937) was a Chief Warrant Officer and communications specialist for the U.S. Navy, who sold his services as a spy to the Soviet Union from 1968 to 1985, the height of the Cold War era.
Walker was a flamboyant, hard-drinking womanizer and there were reports that he neglected his wife and children.
His son, Michael Walker, who had a relatively minor role in the ring and turned state's evidence in exchange for a reduced sentence, was released from prison on parole in February 2000.

Christopher Boyce and Daulton Lee sold the secrets of the Rhyolite satellites and William Kampiles those of the KH-11 satellites.

The term espionage is most readily associated with state spying on potential or actual enemies, primarily for military purposes, but this has been extended to spying involving corporations, known specifically as industrial espionage.
The term intelligence officer is also used to describe a member of the armed forces, police, or civilian intelligence agency who specialises in the gathering, fusion, and analysis of information and intelligence in order to provide advice to their government or another organisation.
Other popular spies are the characters Johnny Fedora by Desmond Cory, Nikita played by Peta Wilson, and Michael Samuelle, played by Roy Dupuis, in the TV series La Femme Nikita (1997-2001) and Sydney Bristow, played by Jennifer Garner, in the subsequent TV series Alias (2001-2006).
