Wallace is a city located in Shoshone County, Idaho.
Out of the total population, 20.4% of those under the age of 18 and 10.5% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
The 1997 film Dante's Peak was mostly filmed in the town of Wallace, with the large hill next to town digitally altered to look like a volcano.

Wallace, a lumberman from Wisconsin, came and noted that this was the center with the confluence of Canyon Creek from Burke northeast, the Coeur d’Alene River on the east, Nine Mile Creek from the north and the open country to the west and decided that this was an ideal location for a town.
At one time Wallace had a population of 4,000, but at present it is only 2,412 due to the new highway 90 being built through the town, which has necessitated the moving of many houses.
Wallace is served by the Northern Pacific and the Union Pacific Railroads.

Instead, they went to a remote campground north of Wallace and the girl was stabbed with a pocket knife five times in the upper body.
Tuggle, 37, a registered sex offender who was released from an Idaho prison last year after serving nine years for raping his 14-year-old sister-in-law, is the only suspect in the case, Reynalds said.
