The Wallowa Mountains are a mountain range located in the Columbia Plateau of northeastern Oregon in the United States.
The range is drained by the Wallowa River, which flows in the valley along its northeastern side, as well as its tributaries, including the Minam River, which flows along the southwest side of the range.
Sacajawea is the 6th tallest mountain in Oregon and the tallest mountain in Oregon outside of the Cascade Range.

The Wallowa County Courthouse in Enterprise was constructed of native stone in 1909.
Wallowa County is now bounded on the north by the State of Washington, on the east by the Snake River which is the boundary with the State of Idaho, on the south by Baker County, and on the west by Union County.
They take their name from the Wallowa River that is formed by the confluence of the east and west forks about a mile south of Wallowa Lake and eventually flows into the Grande Ronde River.
